Turning the tables on what we hear

As we transition we often hear things from cisgender (cis) people about our transitioning, reasons, reasons not to etc.  This is a list that was compiled in comments to a post about this elsewhere. There is no single contributor, it is a group effort. Feel free to add your own suggestions to this list in the comments.  Some of these are reasons that would be given to a cis person for them to transition and not be cis.

  • Your parents will love you more.
  • Spend more money on medical bills.
  • Wouldn’t it be awesome to be a girl?
  • You’d make a smokin’ hot dude!
  • Remember how fun adolescence was? Well, guess what? You can do it all over again!
  • You’ll feel better with boobs.
  • You wouldn’t feel lonely if you had a pair of boobs to play with.
  • How do you know you’re not a girl if you’ve never tired?
  • Have you talked with a psychologist or psychiatrist for 2 yeas to know / prove that you are cis?
  • Being cis is just a phase you’re going through.
  • You’d be the best of both worlds!
  • You just haven’t met the right dress yet.
  • You’re cis? Thank heavens, I thought you were going to say you’re gay.
